INDIANAPOLIS -- Gov. Mitch Daniels has officially requested federal assistance for several Indiana counties affected by last week's tornadoes and storms.
The governor asked President Obama to declare a major disaster in six Southern counties. Last weekend, Daniels declared a disaster emergency for 11 counties.
Officials say damage in the five extra counties is lower than previously reported.
