After closure in 2020, YMCA reopens in downtown
NILES, Mich.-- As we head into one year of the pandemic the YMCA of Greater Michiana hosted their second annual "Day of Giving" collecting donations to ensure no one is turned away from programming this year.
As more members returned to in-person programming many were unable to afford their memberships due to the financial strain COVID-19 has placed on so many families suffering from job loss.
Recognizing the financial impact the pandemic has caused the focus for this year's event was on collecting donations to provide financial support for community members.
All donations will go towards annual programming for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
“This year it’s even more important as we’ve got COVID and a pandemic among us knowing that the community has the needs and programming is so very important," said Jill Haboush, Chief Development Officer for the YMCA Greater Michiana.
All three Greater Michiana locations - Niles, South Bend, and Benton Harbor - participated in this year's event. To donate virtually click here.
