Deadly crash confirmed in Cass County

A deadly crash was reported by the Michigan Department of Transportation Sunday afternoon on M-40 near Prang Street in Jones, Michigan.

Just after noon, Cass County Deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash.

Investigators determined a vehicle traveling north, driven by 17-year-old Lucas Lambright of Millersburg, Indiana, lost control of the vehicle and crossed the center line colliding with a southbound vehicle.

The passenger in Lambright's car, 18-year-old Matthew Miller of Middlebury, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies say, the car that was struck was driven by a woman from Grand Rapids who had a female passenger with her. Both women were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
