Delays on U.S. 31 between Plymouth and Argos for bridge work

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Indiana Department of Transportation announced there will be traffic delays on U.S. 31 between Plymouth and Argos to set beams for the southbound bridge over Elkhart Western Railroad between 13th Road and 14th Road.

The delays are expected to start Wednesday and continue through Friday, Oct. 18 for staging, crane and beam delivery, crane removal, etc., as well as the actual beam setting.

On Tuesday, Oct. 15, traffic will be stopped for up to 30 minutes at a time while the six bridge beams are set.

Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes or expect traffic delays.

Officials say the schedule is weather dependent and subject to change.

INDOT encourages motorists to slow down, exercise caution, and drive distraction-free through all work zones.
