SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A local dentist is offering turn those Halloween sweets into some cash and help out a local food pantry at the same time.
North Point Pediatric Denistry is buying back Halloween candy.
For each pound of candy collected, North Point will pay $2 and then donate $2 to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana.
The office hopes to collect one ton of candy this year.
"I've seen a dramatic increase in tooth decay," said David Fishbaugh. "Not only are we helping the food bank, but we're also getting rid of the extra candy."
