Deputies investigating armed robbery at La Crosse gas station

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The La Porte County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery of a gas station that happened Wednesday morning.

Deputies were called to the BP in the 100 block of Washington Street in La Crosse around 11:15 a.m.

The investigation revealed a black male entered the store and demanded cash from the clerk. Although the suspect did not display a gun, he implied he had one.

The suspect fled south on Washington Street, reports said.

Approximately 45 minutes later, Indiana State Police and the Starke County Sheriff's Office detained the suspect in Starke County, according to deputies.

Information regarding the suspect was not released. The investigation is ongoing.
