Deputies release sketch of suspect who shot La Grange County resident in 2015
LA GRANGE COUNTY, Ind. -- The La Grange County Sheriff's Department has released a forensic sketch of a person suspected of shooting Rocky Swihart in front of his home in August 2015.
The shooting happened between 9:15 and 10:15 a.m. on E 350 S in Stroh, according to deputies.
The initial investigation identified the suspect as a white male in his 20s or 30s, bald, possibly driving a tan or beige early 80s Chrysler sedan.
Reports say the suspect pulled into the victim's driveway, got out of the vehicle, and approached 41-year-old Rocky Swihart, who was in the front yard.
The suspect and Swihart got into a verbal exchange.
When Swihart turned away to go back into his home, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot Swihart multiple times, deputies said.
Swihart survived the shooting, but suffered vision loss as a result.
An Indiana State Police sketch artist helped develop a rendering of the shooter.
Detectives are hopeful it will help provide new leads in the investigation.
