Deputies seize over 2 pounds of meth, stolen catalytic converters

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. -- A driver was arrested after deputies located 2 pounds of methamphetamine and a large amount of cash in the vehicle on Friday evening, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department.

At 9:15 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Centreville-Constantine Road near Engle Road.

The driver, a 47-year-old man from Constantine, was taken into custody after deputies located 2 pounds of meth and a substantial amount of cash in the vehicle, deputies said.

The driver is facing a preliminary charge of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine.

Deputies obtained a search warrant for the man's home and located an additional 48 grams of meth and paraphernalia used to package and sell meth, deputies said.

A 35-year-old woman in the home was taken into custody on charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine.

Deputies said they also located 6 catalytic converters at the home that are believed to be stolen.

The names of the suspects are being held pending arraignment.
