The Detroit Lions fired head coach Jim Schwartz Monday afternoon.
The Lions lost to the Minnesota Vikings Sunday and both team's coaches are now without a job.
The team's president talked about why he was let go.
"the simple fact is we are where we are and we did not win the division title, we did not win enough games, and we made the changes today that we think are necessary to reach those goals," said Lions president Tom Lewland.
A strong contender for the job is Penn State head coach Bill O'Brien.
