Detroit Lions' Joique Bell gives back to Benton Harbor

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- One of Benton Harbor’s own, Joique Bell of the Detroit Lions, sponsored a celebrity basketball game and a free football training camp for youth in the area.

"If we can just touch one child out there, that’s good enough for me," said Bell.

Over 500 kids showed up for one-on-one training from Bell and his teams.

And people packed the stands at the game.

All the proceeds will go towards the Boys and Girls Club of Benton Harbor and towards funding kidney disease research.

Bell and Wilson Chandler each have words of wisdom they want all young boys to take with them.

"Every young kid wants to be a basket ball player, rapper, or football player, and that’s cool, but school is the key, always keep options open," said Chandler.

And from Bell, "Football is a game of inches that’s what life is, one mistake can cost you."
