SOUTH BEND, Ind. – One person is dead after a shooting on the 4000 block of Silver Lane, near Mayflower Road.
Police were called to the scene at 5:47 p.m. Saturday.
The South Bend POlice Department received a report of gunshots fired in the area of Gladstone and Silver Lane.
Officers were dispatched to the area and found one male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to an area hospital and was initially listed in critical condition.
The victim has since passed away and has been identified as 17-year-old, Daekwon Tobar.
Several witnesses have been interviewed at the County Metro Homicide Unit.
There is no suspect information to release at this time, and no arrests have been made.
An autopsy is expected to be scheduled for Tuesday in Fort Wayne.
