Dogs helps veterans cope with PTSD

HOWELL TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- A specially trained dog has made one mid-Michigan veteran's life a little easier to handle.

Stiggy's Dogs is an adoption agency near Howell Township that matches shelter canines with veterans.

One man has seen the positive impact of having a new best friend.

He said before he adopted his Golden Retriever mix, some daily tasks were unbearable.

But now he feels like they were meant to be together.

"I just thought I would be the marine and just tough it out and suck it up," said Mike Grywalsky.

The agency said they specifically interview veterans and look for dogs that fit their needs and lifestyles.
