Don't bet on rain, hot and dry weather continues

Baking heat continues for the first few days of June, highs in the 90s through Saturday. The heat breaks next week. The chance of rain remains extremely low. Drought will worsen through the end of next week. There is some optimism of a pattern change by the middle of June that would bring more opportunities for rain.
