Dowagiac man arrested for alleged marijuana grow operation

DOWAGIAC, Mich. -- A Dowagiac man was arrested for allegedly growing marijuana illegally, according to the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team.

Members of the drug enforcement team served a search warrant at a home in the 500 block of E. Prairie Ronde Street on suspicion marijuana was being grown there illegally.

During the search, detectives located an outdoor marijuana grow operation that was in violation of the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act.

The 51-year-old male was arrested, but his name is being withheld pending arraignment.

Additional suspects were not present at the time the search warrant was served and are being sought for questioning, police said.
