Downed tree causes two-vehicle crash in Cass County

CASS COUNTY, Mich. - The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on Twin Lakes Road near Flanders in Wayne Township around 7:00 p.m. Thursday.

The investigation shows that a 26-year-old Dowagiac man, was traveling southbound on Twin Lakes Road when he struck a fallen tree in the roadway. 

He then lost control and hit a parked vehicle with hazards on, which was trying to mark the downed tree. 

The crash caused the 26-year-old's vehicle to overturn. He was extricated from his vehicle and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The parked vehicle was occupied by a 69-year-old man and 66-uear-old woman, both of Dowagiac. Both occupants were uninjured.

Seatbelts were used and alcohol was not a factor according to documents.
