Downton Abbey fans flock to South Bend for costume exhibit

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -

The History Museum in South Bend premiered the traveling exhibit "Dressing Downton," on Saturday.

The exhibit features 36 costumes from the hit PBS show, Downton Abbey.  The museum is the only location in Indiana and Michigan to showcase the costumes.

Marilyn Thompson is the Director of Marketing for the museum.  She says she expects people from all over the country to come to South Bend to see the costumes. She saw that in just one day.

"So far we have 40% of our tickets are from our local area," said Thompson. "We had 45% from the five state region, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio and Kentucky. The remainder are from other states."

The exhibit runs until mid-January.
