Downtown South Bend goes retro for August First Fridays

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Downtown South Bend is celebrating the end of the “Best. Week. Ever” with a retro First Fridays event on August 6.

This month’s First Fridays theme is “Flashback Friday,” which celebrates the '80s and other decades with a concert in the street by The 1985, a Studebaker car show, and more.

Guests are encouraged to wear vintage clothes to the celebration.

A number of events make up this Friday's festivities, including the following:

  • ROC UR BODY – a free family fun night filled with games, dancing, physical activity, and more
  • Studebaker car show
  • Guided architectural walking tours
  • TakeOut 25 Downtown South Bend
  • Touch-a-Truck – an opportunity for kids to touch and explore city vehicles downtown
  • Shrimp boil at Chicory Café

The event also includes a number of other promotions and specials at businesses and restaurants around town.
