BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- Over the past six weeks, Michigan State Troopers have gotten 26 guns off the streets of Benton Harbor as a part of the Michigan Secure Cities Partnership initiative.
The partnership between the city and the Michigan State Police has been cracking down on illegal weapons and drug dealers since 2015.
In addition to the 26 confiscated firearms, troopers arrested 29 suspects including five juveniles for carrying concealed weapons.
Michigan State Police also seized more than three pounds of marijuana, methamphetamine, and Adderall pills, as well as more than $24,000 in cash over the past month and a half.
