Drive by shooting in Niles under investigation

NILES, Mich.—Deputies responded to shots fired in Niles Township and discovered that a residence at 1126 Lawndale Ave. was targeted during a drive by shooting around 2:53 a.m. on Thursday.

No one was injured in the shooting but the residence was struck several times.

No arrests have been made.

The incident is currently under investigation.

Agencies involved include Berrien County Sheriff's Office Road Patrol, Berrien County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau, Pokagon Tribal Police, Cass County Sheriff's Office, and Dowagiac Police Department.

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department is asking for assistance from the public.
