Driver allegedly leaves passenger, vehicle following crash on County Road 115

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. - Deputies are investigating after a driver left their passenger at the scene of a crash on County Road 115 Sunday night, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office.

At 9:16 p.m., a 2015 Honda Acord was traveling north on C.R. 115, approaching the intersection with County Road 18, when, for unknown reasons, the Honda veered off the road, went down an embankment, and stopped in water under a nearby bridge.

The driver allegedly left the crash scene before law enforcement arrived.

The vehicle's passenger was taken to the hospital for his injuries.

Deputies continue to investigate the crash.
