Driver arrested after fleeing from deputies

A driver was arrested Tuesday afternoon after fleeing from deputies attempting to conduct a traffic stop.

An Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted a traffic stop on 22-Jorge Alvarez Reyes for disregarding a traffic light at Bristol Avenue and Main Street around 4:30 p.m.

Alvarez Reyes fled from deputies and was apprehended in the area of CR6 and Emerson Drive.

Alvarez Reyes did not have a driver’s license, deputies said.

Alvarez Reyes was taken to the Elkhart County Jail on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement-felony, habitual traffic violator-felony, reckless driving-misdemeanor, and never receiving a valid license-prior.
