Driver cited in crash involving cement truck and RV Wednesday morning
ABC 57 ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to the intersection of C.R. 31 and US 33 around 9:49 a.m., Wednesday, for a two-vehicle crash.
Authorities say a 2007 Dodge Ram hauling a 2026 Cougar Half Ton RV, driven by 68-year-old Paul F. Conway of Fort Wayne, was traveling southeast on US 33.
At the same time, the report states a 2015 Oshkosh S Series cement truck, driven by a 46-year-old Elkhart man, was on C.R. 31 facing north at the intersection.
Deputies say the cement truck had a green light and began to turn northwest towards US 33 when Conway disregarded the red light for US 33's southeast traffic.
Conway's vehicle struck the cement truck's driver's side.
The Ram sustained heavy damage all over while the RV sustained heavy front-end damage.
The cement truck's driver was taken to Goshen Hospital for complaints of arm and head pain.
Conway was medically cleared at the scene but later went to Goshen Hospital for chest and rib pain.
Conway was cited for Disregarding a Lighted/Automatic Signal, Causing Injury.
