Driver found unconscious in early morning crash on Saturday
GOSHEN, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office received a call early Saturday morning regarding a vehicle that had left the roadway causing significant damages.
Deputies arrived on the scene around 2:46 a.m. near the 66000 block of CR 37 in Goshen.
Officials tell us a 2015 Chevy Impala was traveling southbound on CR 37 from CR 40 when the vehicle left the east side of the roadway.
Once leaving the roadway, the vehicle struck a fence in two different locations followed by hitting a tree on the driver’s side.
Emergency crews found the driver unconscious when they arrived on the scene.
The driver has been identified as a 23-year-old male.
He was quickly transported to a local hospital for lacerations to his head and face as well as scratches to his arms.
He has been cited for speeding, not wearing a seatbelt, and driving with a suspended license.
