Driver in critical condition following crash between tractor, van

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. – The driver of a tractor is in critical condition following a crash along B Road Monday afternoon, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department reported.

At 2:49 p.m., deputies were called to the area of B and Beech Roads, northeast of Bremen, for a crash between an International Harvester farm tractor and a Chevrolet passenger van.

According to the investigation, the tractor was traveling west on B Road as the van traveled east on B Road.

The driver of the van said he came to a stop on B Road as the tractor traveled down the center of the road, approaching the van, according to reports.

Witnesses and the driver of the van said the left rear tire of the tractor struck the front end of the van, causing the tractor to roll over.

The driver of the tractor, a 25-year-old Bremen man, was taken to the hospital with unknown injures and severe bleeding but has since been listed as being in critical condition.

The driver of the van was transported with complaint of back pain.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
