Driver injured in crash on M-60

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- A driver was injured when his vehicle left the roadway and overturned late Wednesday evening, according to the Cass County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to M-60 at Yankee Street around 11:45 p.m. to investigate a single vehicle crash.

The investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling in the southbound lane of M-60 heading north. The vehicle went off the road, overturned and came to a rest on its side south of Yankee Street, deputies said.

The driver, 43-year-old Michael Maleski, was extricated from his vehicle and taken to Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Deputies say alcohol and drugs appear to be a factor in the crash, but it remains under investigation.
