Driver killed, four injured in crash on US 30
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. -- A Warsaw woman was killed and four others were injured in a crash on US 30 Wednesday afternoon, according to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office.
The driver of a Chevy Silverado says he was traveling eastbound on US 30 and was slowing in the left hand lane to assist a motorist stopped along the westbound lanes.
He told deputies he activated his hazard lights when his truck was rear ended by a Dodge Grand Caravan, reports said.
The driver of the van, 32-year-old Amanda Hench, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
All four passengers in the van were transported to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
The front seat passenger, a 54-year-old woman from Warsaw, suffered broken bones.
The middle row passenger, a 75-year-old woman from Warsaw, suffered leg and facial injuries.
The rear passengers included a 7-year-old with chest injuries and a 4-year-old with unknown injuries.
