Driver killed in accident on SR15

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department responded to a serious accident Wednesday on SR15, one mile north of US6.
The 19-year-old driver of a Honda Accord was driving southbound on SR15 when he lost control, crossed the center line and hit a truck head on.
Both drivers and three passengers in the Honda were taken to the hospital.
The driver of the Honda has a possible broken leg. The driver of the pickup truck had a facial injury.
Christopher Swihart was pronounced dead at the hospital.
SR15 was shut down for several hours during the investigation and cleanup.
The road reopened around 3 p.m.
Deputies report there have been over 35 accidents and slide-offs reported on Wednesday.
