Driver loses control, crashes into Notre Dame gates

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -
A car crashed into the gates near the entrance of Notre Dame campus Tuesday at approximately 1:30 p.m.
According to Sue Lister, the Director of Media Relations at the University of Notre Dame, a driver entering campus from US 933 via St. Mary's Road lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the gates and fence near the entrance to campus.
No injuries were reported in the accident and authorities do not believe alcohol was involved.
Police believe the accident may have been caused by brake failure.
