Driver safe after vehicle rollover

ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle that rolled over onto its hood Sunday morning.

The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. 3.5 miles south of the Goshen city limits.

According to deputies, the driver was traveling northwest on US HWY 33 from County Road 146 when they lost control of the vehicle and drove across the opposite lane of travel off the roadway.

The vehicle, a 2007 Jeep Compass experienced a rollover where it came to a stop on its hood.

The driver has been identified as an 87-year-old female from Cromwell, Indiana.

She had no complaints of pain but was transported to the hospital by ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries.

She was issued a citation for driving too fast for the weather conditions at the time.
