Drivers seriously injured following two-vehicle crash

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Marshall County Sheriff's Office reports county dispatch received a call about a motor vehicle crash at S.R. 25 and Chestnut Road around 8:10 p.m., May 8.
Upon arrival, first responders immediately provided medical attention to both drivers.
Both drivers were later taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
During the investigation at the scene, deputies determined a 1998 Chevy pickup truck, driven by 19-year-old Jacob G. Kats of Tippecanoe, made a left turn into the path of a 2008 Buick passenger car, driven by 31-year-old Landon J. Lewis of Rochester, who was traveling west on S.R. 25.
The road was briefly closed due to debris and the crash investigation.
Authorities say neither illegal drugs or alcohol are believed to have been a factor in the crash.
