Dump truck driver cited following three-vehicle crash, one injured

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to US 6 east of C.R. 17 around 7:26 a.m., Wednesday, for a three-vehicle crash involving a dump truck.
The crash report states a 2024 Mack dump truck, driven by 66-year-old Richard Bontrager of New Paris, was travelling west on US 6 east of C.R. 17.
Bontrager then attempted to overtake a slow-moving farm tractor.
At the same time, a 2012 Toyota Scion, driven by a 26-year-old Goshen man, was travelling east on US 6 before colliding with the driver side of the dump truck.
A 2014 Ford Mustang, driven by a 36-year-old Nappanee woman, was also travelling east on US 6 and collided with the Scion's rear.
The Mustang's driver had complaints about arm pain.
Bontrager was cited for Driving Left of Center.
