DWD Announcement: Northern Indiana open houses scheduled for workers who experienced a layoff

Indiana. --Workers who've experienced layoffs might be eligible for free training and additional lifetime employment benefits, even if they're currently working. 

Federal funds are available for workers that qualify for the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program staff with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. 

Trade Adjustment Assistance case managers are available to meet with any workers impacted, to determine eligibility. 

Any eligible workers begin training to earn a post-secondary credential, associate degree or higher, at no cost to the workers. 

Availability includes Wednesday, September 13th from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Nappanee Public Library, at Meeting Room 1; Thursday, September 21st from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the St. Joseph County Public Library, at the Alligator Room, and Saturday, September 30th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Elkhart Public Library, at the Orange/Gray Room.
