Early morning armed robbery ends in arrest of Texas man

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – An armed robbery at a Citgo gas station in St. Joseph, Mich. resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old Texas man.

Michigan State Police were dispatched around 12:50 a.m. Friday morning for a report of an armed robbery at a gas station on Niles Road.

Security footage shows a man entering the gas station wearing gloves.

The video shows the man handing the cashier a note demanding the money and waving a semi-automatic pistol.

The suspect left the store with an unspecified amount of cash but was eventually apprehended by officers shortly after.

No one was hurt in the incident.

The man is currently being held in the Berrien County Jail for armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

The St. Joseph Township Police, Coloma Township Police, Michigan State Police, and the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department were involved in the incident.
