East Race celebrates anniversary

SOUTH BEND — The city of South Bend is celebrating the East Race's 30th anniversary.
A ceremony to honor the East Race is set for noon Saturday.
Those who wish to ride the race can do so from noon to 5 p.m. Rafters pay $5 per person. Kayakers can use one for $15 each.
The East Race is the oldest man-made white-water course in the country.
