Education report card: Benton Harbor schools rank poorly

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- On Thursday, the Michigan Department of Education released its annual report card, and the news is not good for Benton Harbor.

Three schools have been ranked among the worst in the state: the high school / middle school, Fair Plain West Elementary, and Steam Academy at MLK.

Now of the state's priority list, the schools are required to create a model to improve student achievement or face state intervention.
