EDWARDSBURG, Mich. -- On Friday, March 6, a tornado touched down in Edwardsburg. Three minutes after the confirmed start time, the first warning for the storm was issued.
Approximate timeline for Edwardsburg Tornado:
- 3:11 p.m.: Official start, touchdown
- 3:12 p.m.: 911 call
- 3:14 p.m.: First Tornado Warning, mainly directed northeast
- 3:19 p.m.: Maximum width reached, tornado crosses M62
- 3:35 p.m.: After causing more damage, tornado lifts southwest of Williamsville.
- 3:38 p.m.: Second Warning issued, including Three Rivers as tornado takes an east-northeasterly track.

"A disorganized circulation touched down northwest of the intersection of Runkle St and Conrad Rd, destroying an attached garage and damaging the front of a home. One fatality, a 12-year-old boy, was confirmed at the home. The tornado continued northeast, causing damage to mainly trees with some minor roof damage as it moved across Yankee St, east of Dailey Rd. The tornado then widen and intensified with the peak damage occurring along Harris St, between Hess Rd and M-62 where numerous trees were snapped or uprooted. Some damage to pole barns and homes (mainly roofs) was noted. The tornado crossed M-62 and continued northeast, crossing portions of Oil City Rd and Monette St to Curtis, Day and Chain Lakes before lifting just east of the intersection of South and Walnut Rd."
