ELKHART, Ind. -- All Elkhart Public Library locations are closed Friday because of an electrical fire at the library in downtown Elkhart.
Firefighters responded to a small fire in the basement around 9:45 a.m., according to dispatch.
A transformer was damaged, according to an electrician working at the library to restore power.
AEP is expected to respond to the scene as well.
Library officials posted on its Facebook page that all branches will be closed until Monday because of the electrical issue.
In addition, the library catalog is temporarily unavailable on the EPL website.
