Electricity restored after equipment failure in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Electricity was restored to South Bend customers after an equipment failure around 6 p.m. Monday.

According to Indiana Michigan Power, a transformer failed leaving nearly 3,000 customers in the dark.

The range of the outage spanned from SR 23 between Edison and Ironwood Roads, nearly to US 20, and areas along SR 933 near Notre Dame.

Power was restored to all customers by 6 a.m. Tuesday.
