Elementary school hit by tornado re-opens

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. -- Repairs are complete on a school in Tippecanoe County that was hit by a tornado last November.

Mintonye Elementary School reopened just in time for the new school year.

In November the school was destroyed by a tornado with winds up to 165 miles an hour.

No students were at school that day.

The teachers say they are ready for a fresh start in their new building.

"When you are type a like I am everything has to have a place. It's very nice to have the organization from being in your own room and own buildings as well," said teacher Sheryl Davis.

It cost more than $3 million to repair the school.
