Elkhart asking residents to help shape future of parks and recreation

ELKHART, Ind. -- The City of Elkhart will be holding two meetings to give the public a chance to share their ideas and participate in the city's Parks and Cultural Assets Master Plan.

The first meeting will be Tuesday, May 28 from :30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Tolson Community Center.

The second meeting will be held Wednesday, May 29 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at High Dive Park Pavilion.

A nationally known parks and recreation consulting firm, GreenPlay, LLC, will facilitate the meetings.

All members of the community are encouraged to attend the meetings.

Elkhart will also conduct a needs assessment survey.

The results of both the meetings and the survey will be used to prioritize programming and capital improvement projects over the next five years.
