GRANGER, Ind.—A new ice cream shop is set to open in Granger’s Toscana Park development.

Elkhart-based Vanilla Bean Creamery will open a second location at 7424 Gumwood Road in early February.

The shop opened its first location in downtown Elkhart in 2019.

Co-owner Clara Miller, who runs the business with her daughter, Krista, said the shop’s ice cream options are all 100% homemade.

Vanilla Bean Creamery offers about 130 flavors on a rotating basis, including a few vegan and dairy-free options.

The shop makes ice cream flavors like strawberry, blueberry cheesecake, coffee brownie swirl and birthday cake just to name a few.

Once the Granger location opens, the shop will also add a new product to its menu.

“We’ll start with ice cream cakes and slowly add other things,” Miller said.

Miller said that while opening a new store during a pandemic has its challenges, she can’t thank the community enough for their support.

“Locals have really come out and supported us. We just have great faith that the future will be better than the present,” Miller said.
