Elkhart celebrates Bike to Work Week with free breakfast and events

ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Parks & Recreation Department is celebrating Bike to Work Week with two days of free food and events.

From 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Friday, the Civic Plaza will host booths, giveaways and feature free breakfast for bicyclists. The breakfast will include snacks and coffee from Panera Bread and Rise ‘n’ Roll Bakery.

For those looking to get out for a ride after work, there will be a family-friendly Bicycle Bonanza ride to the Elkhart Environmental Center from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday as well. 

The festivities conclude on Saturday with a Breakfast Ride, hosted by Bike Elkhart County, in two locations. Riders can join at Centier Bank, located at 100 South Main Street in Elkhart, or at The Electric Brew, located at 118 East Washington Street in Goshen.

The Breakfast Ride will begin at 7:00 a.m. for bicyclists meeting at Centier Bank, and 8:30 a.m. for those taking off from The Electric Brew.
