Elkhart City Council passes Elkhart Rental Inspection Program

ABC 57 ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart City Council officially passed the Elkhart Rental Inspection Program Monday night. The program is designed to protect the health and safety of individuals and families living in rental housing.
The program ensures that rental l properties meet fundamental safety and habitability standards like functioning heating systems, safe electrical wiring, and structurally sound buildings. The program is designed to enforce those standards fairly, consistently and transparently.
