SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Elkhart County native Mekayla Eppers stopped by ABC 57 Wednesday morning to talk to Morning Anchor Emily Evans about winning the Mrs. America title over the weekend.
Eppers was crowned Mrs. America 2018 Saturday night in Las Vegas.
She says helping victims of Hurricane Harvey is first on her agenda.
She earned her ride to the national pageant after winning Mrs. Indiana 2017 last Spring.
Eppers (formerly Diehl) is a former Miss Indiana. And she competed in Miss USA in 2014.
She'll now head to the Mrs. World competition December 17.
