Elkhart County crash causes significant injuries on CR 18

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- A collision in Elkhart County caused significant injury to two drivers on CR 18 shortly after 5:30 p.m. Saturday, August 24.

A woman driving a 2017 Honda Civic was on CR 27, headed north across CR 18.

The driver of a 2005 Chevy Silverado was west bound on CR 18.

The woman failed to yield the right of way and entered the intersection, causing the other driver to crash into the passenger side of the Honda.

The woman was transported to Elkhart General Hospital and suffered chest pain, a broken leg and possibly a broken arm and ribs, but injuries are not life threatening.

The driver of the Chevy was transported to Goshen General Hospital with a potentially broken arm.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
