ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Indiana State Police are investigating a single deadly truck crash on the Toll Road that claimed a life.

Just before 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, Elkhart County Deputies were called to a wooded area, near the County Road 10 overpass, for a crashed truck.

Since the incident was believed to have originated on the Toll Road, Indiana State Police was called. State troopers believe this truck was traveling west on the Toll Road when it ran off the north side of the road and crashed through a guard rail.

That truck rolled and stopped in the wooded area.

The 18-year-old man driving the truck was thrown from it and pronounced dead at the scene.

ISP suspects speed and alcohol as factors in the crash. They also believe the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.

The right lane of the Toll Road was closed while law enforcement investigated but reopened around 9 a.m.
