Elkhart County Historical Museum hands-on embroidery program

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- History buffs, handcraft enthusiasts, and tea aficionados alike are all invited to the Elkhart County Historical Museum for the Hoop Embroidery and Tea program.
This informative and creativity-focused event allows participants to learn about the history of hoop embroidery, enjoy a variety of tea selections, and give hoop embroidery a try.
This program takes place on Aug. 22 at 11 a.m.
Each embroiderer will be able to choose from a variety of designs or will have the option to bring their own project to work on.
All summer, the Museum is highlighting the work of women artists from throughout Elkhart County.
“History and art are linked. By practicing a centuries-old art form like hoop embroidery, we have the opportunity to put ourselves in the shoes of artists of the past,” said Jenifer Blouin Policelli, Curator of Education.
Registration for the event is required by Aug. 10, and the cost is $10 per person.
Ages 12 and up are eligible to register, but anyone under 18 should be accompanied by an adult.
To register, visit the Elkhart County Parks website.
