Elkhart County Parks invites you to Wednesday Bird Walk

ELKHART, Ind. -- Experience the beauty of the changing seasons and seasonal birds at the Elkhart County Parks' monthly Wednesday Bird Walk, taking place on October 5 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Kum Mol Rie Shelter in Bonneyville Mill County Park.

Beginner and seasoned birdwatchers are invited to bring or borrow a pair of binoculars and step out for a guided hike.

The bird walk gives visitors the chance to explore the pines, prairies, and woods of Bonneyvile Mill County Park in search for seasonal birds.

Some birds that could potentially show up include the Red-breasted Nuthatch, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Sharp-shinned Hawk, and Barred Owl.

Cost is free and open to ages 8 and up.

No registration is required for the event.

Guests are advised to dress for the weather and to plan travel time accordingly for the event.

The Elkhart County Parks offer more bird walks on November 2, at the Ox Bow Haus Shelter in Ox Bow County Park, and December 7, at Briar Patch Shelter in Bonneyville Mill County Park.
