Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office presented with Business Education Partnership Award

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce presented the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office with a Business Education Partnership Award on Tuesday. 

The sheriff’s office was nominated by Dianna Koelndorfer from Ivy Tech Community College.  

The award is given to profit and non-profit businesses that demonstrate a positive ongoing relationship with a school in the Elkhart community through time-spent and resources.  

Specifically, the division of corrections within the sheriff’s office was commended for providing substantial support to local education.  

"The Elkhart Co Sheriff's Office, Division of Corrections, provides various levels of educational programming with local educational institutions. I.e., high school GED/HSE classes with The Crossings high school; certifications in maintenance/manufacturing courses with Ivy Tech Community College; and courses through Horizon Education Alliance (HEA). They also provide classes on finances, parenting, and other life skills." According to the press release.
