Call for artists: Elkhart, Goshen storm drain art project
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind.—The Cities of Elkhart and Goshen have announced a call for artists with the return of a community street art project.
The Storm Drain Art Project aims to beautify city storm drains to increase awareness of waterway pollution.
This year’s theme is “Our rivers are a resource worth protecting” based on the St. Joseph and Elkhart rivers importance to local economic vitality.
Ahead of the spring project, the two cities are currently seeking artists interested in creating artwork for storm drains throughout the area.
Interested artists should submit design proposals by midnight on Sunday, February 10.
Proposals must have the following:
- Applicant contact information: name, address, telephone number and email address
- A description of any art training or experiences
- A short artist biography
- Information on the proposed design including a color rendition with appropriate dimensions

Artists selected for the project will be notified by March 1.
